Today the sun will be above the horizon longer than any other day here in Denmark. With so-called summer solstice, we have the “longest” day. The varying day length is between approx. 17.5 hours at summer solstice and about. 7 hours at the winter solstice. Although Denmark is a small country, there are large variations in day length at the summer solstice. Thus it will be 18 hours and 6 minutes in Skagen (the northernmost town in Denmark), while ’only’ 17 hours and 17 minutes in Gedser (the southernmost town). So the people in Skagen has the chance to see the sun for 49 minutes [...]
