The Longest Day

Today the sun will be above the horizon longer than any other day here in Denmark. With so-called summer solstice, we have the “longest” day. The varying day length is between approx. 17.5 hours at summer solstice and about. 7 hours at the winter solstice. Although Denmark is a small country, there are large variations in day length at the summer solstice. Thus it will be 18 hours and 6 minutes in Skagen (the northernmost town in Denmark), while ’only’ 17 hours and 17 minutes in Gedser (the southernmost town).
